Why the World Needs What You Carry

Stop Burying Your Gift! The world needs what you carry. Too many powerful ideas never see the light of day because of fear, doubt, or overwhelm. This post explores the lesson from the Parable of the Talents and why sharing your gifts is essential—not just for your success, but for the people who need what you carry.

One of the most powerful lessons about purpose appears in the Parable of the Talents recorded in Gospel of Matthew25:14–30.

In the story, a master entrusts his servants with money (called “talents”). Two servants invest what they were given and multiply it. But the third servant hides his talent in the ground out of fear. The master’s response is sobering. The issue was not that the servant lost the money. The issue was that he refused to use what he was given. This parable speaks directly to entrepreneurs, creatives, authors, and leaders today.

Your Talent Is Not Meant To Be Hidden

Many people carry incredible ideas but never share them because of:

  • Fear of criticism

  • Perfectionism

  • Lack of technical knowledge

  • Imposter syndrome

  • Overwhelm

But the truth is simple: the world cannot benefit from what you never release. Your knowledge could help someone solve a problem. Your story could encourage someone who feels alone. Your expertise could change someone’s business or ministry. When we hide our gifts, we also hide the impact those gifts were meant to create.

Fruitfulness Is the Evidence

Jesus made another powerful statement in Gospel of John 15:8: “This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” Fruitfulness means producing something that benefits others. For entrepreneurs and creators, that fruit might look like:

  • Books

  • Websites

  • Courses

  • Media

  • Businesses

  • Ministries

  • Products

  • Educational content

In other words, fruitfulness often requires visibility.

Why So Many Great Ideas Never Launch

Most people don't lack ideas. They lack systems and support. For example: Someone may want to write a book but doesn’t know how to format or publish it. A ministry leader may want a website but has no idea how to design one. A creative may want to build a brand but gets stuck on tech, marketing, or structure. This is where professional support becomes valuable.

The Question to Ask Yourself

Instead of asking: “Am I qualified enough?” Ask: “Who might benefit if I finally shared this?” Someone is waiting for what you carry. The only question is whether you will bury it — or build with it.
